Bamber Physiotherapy Covid-19 Update

Thank you for your patience with the current situation regarding the Covid outbreak. Fortunately the contagion rate has dramatically reduced over the past few weeks and we are now in a position where we can organise face to face consultations.

At Bamber physiotherapy we have a duty of care to risk assess any client before any treatment can commence face to face.

If you are experiencing any of the following we would not advise a face to face appointment.

• a high temperature

• a new, continuous cough

• a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

As of the 21st June appointments will be on a first come first serve basis.

Appointments can be booked online at www.bamberphysio.co.uk of by telephoning 077 14796500

In order to facilitate safe practice the following procedures MUST be adhered to:

Please wait in your vehicle and wait to be called (this will give the physiotherapist time to sanitise the clinic to facilitate your treatment)

Please bring with you a face mask to wear during your treatment session (your physiotherapist will be wearing a mask and gloves and will sanitise hands before and after your treatment.)

You will be asked to sanitise your hands with alcohol gel prior to treatment commences.

No appointment cards will be issued instead a reminder will be sent to your phone or email.

Card payment is encouraged (If cash is used no change can be given as to limit cross contamination)

We operate a one way system. Entry will be via the black door at the front of the clinic. Exit will be by the side door of the treatment room.

What Physiotherapists do?

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient’s general lifestyle.

At the core is the patient’s involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.

You can benefit from physiotherapy at any time in your life. Physiotherapy helps with back pain or sudden injury, managing long-term medical condition such as arthritis, and in preparing for childbirth or a sporting event.

Why Physiotherapy?

Unlike some other therapy professions Physiotherapy is a degree-based healthcare profession. All chartered  Physios undergo training in many areas of medicine and  use their knowledge and skills to improve a range of conditions associated with different systems of the body, such as:

  • Neurological (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's)
  • Neuromusculoskeletal (back pain, whiplash associated disorder, sports injuries, arthritis)
  • Cardiovascular (chronic heart disease, rehabilitation after heart attack)
  • Respiratory (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis).

This in turn enables physiotherapists to consider the impact that any of your pre-existing conditions will have on your injury. Bamber Physiotherapy specialises in Neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Physiotherapists work in a variety of specialisms in health and social care. Additionally, some physiotherapists are involved in education, research and service management.
